2016 Benefit Sale - Sunday

We went to the Madison Children's Museum American Girl Benefit Sale on Sunday, the second day of the sale. We expected a lot of items on the price list to be sold out, but we were pleasantly surprised by the large selection of both dolls and clothing. We originally were in line to receive free tickets for the 9 o'clock time slot, but once we got our tickets, two different people had an extra ticket for the 8:15 time slot that they were giving away. This allowed both of us to get into the sale ahead of time and be the second group in the sale on Sunday. This post includes pictures we took to show what was still available for purchase when we went in at 8:15.

Right when you walk in the door of the warehouse, they had Grace and Isabelle. There were still TONS of both of them left the second day. They had 4 pallets of Grace, each containing 144 dolls. Both of these were $75 on the second day, with a limit of 3 Grace and 3 Isabelle per person. A few of the Grace dolls had their ears pierced with the red heart earrings specific to Grace. Almost all of them had their original braid in, we only saw one that did not.

Lots of  Grace in the newer purple boxes and Isabelle in the pink boxes.

They had all of the BeForever dolls except for Kaya, Kit, Addy, and Maryellen. All of these dolls were $60, with a limit of one BeForever doll per person. None were sold wearing their old meet outfits.

They also had Caroline dolls available. Caroline retired at the end of 2015 and was only $75, with a limit of 1 per person on Sunday. Most of the Caroline dolls on the table had messy hair, but we spotted one on the stack behind the table that had a hairnet in. We asked a volunteer if she could bring it over for us, and she was happy to help.
Most Caroline dolls did not come with a hair net.
Across the isle from the GOTY and BeForever dolls was tables of Truly Me and BeForever outfits, accessories. All Truly Me sets were half price with a reduced limit of 2 per person. There was no furniture available on Sunday. We were impressed with how many outfits were still left. They were sold out of the Bee Myself Outfit, Coconut Cutie Outfit, True Spirit Outfit, Santa Dress, Braided Headbands, Corgi Puppy and hair kits.
left to right: Joyful Jewels Outfit, School Stripes Outfit and Sparkly Skating Outfit.
Lilac Dress and Saige's Wrap Bracelet for Girls
They had all of the Samantha outfits listed on the price list, but they were sold out of Caroline's Fancy Blue Dress. We were very happy because they had Addy's BeForever meet outfit, which was not on the list. All BeForever outfits were half off, with a limit of one per person. Ivy's Accessories and Rebecca's BeForever meet jacket were in good supply. Ivy's Accessories did not include the earrings. For the second day of the sale, both of these were reduced to only $2 and had a limit of 10 each on the second day.
Samantha's Holiday Set, Bicycling Outfit, and Flower Picking Outfit.
Addy's BeForever meet outfit.
All of the signs were still up from the first day, but the limits and prices were changed.
LOTS of Truly Me dolls were available the second day. The only red haired doll left was number 61, and she was gone before we left the sale. About 2 blonde dolls with bangs remained. The rest all had dark hair. Most dolls did not come with hairnets, but their hair was tied into pigtails. They were available in both the Lilac Dress and the True Spirit outfits. Some dolls were available with pierced ears, but you had to ask a volunteer to find one for you, because they kept those behind the tables. They did not cost any more than dolls without earrings. All Truly Me dolls were $35 each with a limit of 8 per person.
Truly Me dolls #13, 16, and 19
Truly Me dolls #31 and 40.
Bitty Babies were available the second day, but they had a lot less of them than they did 18" dolls. They were $25 each, with a limit of 1. There were no outfits left, but some accessory sets were still there. The Bitty Baby Starter Set was also available for $35.

Overall, we were very happy with what we got at the Benefit Sale, and were so glad that we went! We totally recommend going in the future!

Watch for our next few posts reviewing what we got at the Benefit Sale!

Had we bought this all at the American Girl store, we would have paid: $568
Because we got it at the Benefit Sale it cost: $245

We saved $323!!!
