Create Your Own Custom Dolls Are Officially Here!

Yesterday we received an awesome email saying that American Girl's Create Your Own custom doll line is officially here! We are both very excited and had to check out their website to see all of the options to share with you. We are very interested to see how the actual options compare to what we saw in the teaser video we added to our last post.

From what we can see, there are lots and lots of possibilities to what you can create, and we are very excited. 

Custom Doll Line Coming Soon to Truly Me

American Girl's website has revealed that a new custom Truly Me line of dolls will be available soon. The multitude of possibilities has AG fans everywhere excited. We don't have an exact release date yet, but hope that this option will be available soon. 

2017 MCM Benefit Sale Sunday Report

We went to the Madison Children's Museum Benefit Sale again this year. The sale took place on July 22nd and 23rd. We went for the discounted second day of the sale, and are excited to report what was available as well as our experience.

We arrived at the sale at 7:15, and the line was already super long. The sale volunteers started to hand out tickets for 9 o'clock entry at 8 am. We received tickets to be in the third group in, with numbers in the high 200s. The first group of free tickets entered the sale at around 9:30 instead of 9:00 due to overcrowding in the warehouse. This pushed back entry times for all groups, so we ended up entering the warehouse at 10:30, and were very surprised at what was left.

6 New Dolls for 2017

In an email from American Girl, it has come to our attention that there is a confirmed release of not one, not two, but six new dolls for 2017!

New Release - Truly Me

The latest release included several exciting sets for Truly Me!

First, American Girl has put out a new mix and match collection featuring summer-y colors and patterns.

Tropical Print Dress

The first mix and match piece is the Tropical Print Dress, which retails for $14. This dress features a bright tropical patterned dress with a blue mesh layer and yellow double-straps.

New Release - Gabriela!

It's that time of year again, and we have a new Girl of the Year! GOTY 2017 is Gabriela McBride. Gabriela is an African American doll, which excites us since AG has not had a doll of color be the Girl of the Year since Kanani in 2011. Gabriela is a dancer, which we were not too happy to hear. Don't get me wrong, we love cute dance outfits, but it has only been two years since the last GOTY dancer (Isabelle in 2014). But there is a new twist on Gabriella - she is a poet and has a stutter. I think this is great since there has not been a doll like that before, so at least she is unique in that aspect.

Gabriela Doll and Book

The Gabriela doll retails for $115 and has dark skin, curly brown hair, and brown eyes. Her meet outfit includes a purple cropped top with three-quarter length sleeves and a dream graphic layered over a teal tank top, skinny jeans, purple and blue sneakers, and a pink double headband.

GOTY 2017 Announcement

The 2017 Girl of the Year, Gabriela will be announced tomorrow from 7-9 a.m. on Good Morning America.

Rebecca?

I was on americangirl.com the other day and I noticed that several items in Rebecca's collection are 60% off. 

The sets on sale include Rebecca's Costume Set, Rebecca's Director Set, Rebecca's Phonograph Set, and Rebecca's Teatime Traditions.

Lea Adventure Mini Doll Sold Online

I was on the AG website when I noticed that the Lea Adventure Mini Doll is now sold online!

This item was released in a mid-year release, however it was only available in stores. This mini doll retails for $34 online.

American Girl Truly Me in Toys R Us Milwaukee

Select Toys R Us stores had their grand opening of American Girl merchandise on October 29, 2016. Only certain stores stocked American Girl, so you might want to check on this website to see if the store nearest to you has it before you go. The store nearest to us did not stock the Truly Me items, so we drove up to Milwaukee the day after the release. The prices are all the same as they would be if bought directly from American Girl.

The American Girl section was right in front, and it was very well stocked, considering the fact that it was the day after the grand opening.

American Girl at Kohl's

I had seen on another blog that American Girl would be selling GOTY and Wellie Wishers products at Kohl's, but I took a trip to Kohl's yesterday and finally got to see it for myself!

American Girl Sold at Toys R Us?!

A tweet posted by Toys R Us alerted us to the fact that American Girl is now partnering with Toys R Us.

Some further research confirmed this, and gave us some more details. The partnership means you will soon be seeing "store in stores" inside many Toys R Us stores. The Wellie Wishers will be available for purchase for $60 and Truly Me dolls will also be sold for $115.

New Release: BeForever

At the same time as the Melody release, a few other BeForever outfits and accessories were released. Most of them are part of Maryellen's collection, but there are some for Julie, Josefina and Rebecca as well.

Melody's release date has been known for awhile now, but a bunch of items for the Truly Me line have also been released on the same day as Melody.

The Gourmet Kitchen Set is a wooden kitchen with an oven, fridge, cabinets and drawers.

American Girl had a new release this morning! As of today, Melody's collection is now available for purchase online and in stores. In this post, we are going to show what is in Melody's collection.

Back to School Sale

American Girl has a new back to school sale going on until August 15. There are items from the Truly Me and BeForever lines as well girl-sized clothing, crafts, and books. Unfortunately, no Lea items are discounted. The sale averages out to be about 20% off of each item.

Melody's AG Rewards Collection

A special collection of Melody's items are available for AG Rewards members to purchase until August 8, 2016. This is exciting news, since that is almost one month before her collection is released in stores.

Melody's Release Date

We finally have information on Melody's release date! For any readers who do not know, Melody Ellison is the new doll that is being introduced to the BeForever line. She is from the civil rights era, in the year 1964.
